About Chad

Portrait of Chad Cluff

"A developer who believes the best code comes from the same place as a strong finish: consistency, showing up, and putting one foot in front of the other."

I'm a developer and front-end engineer who's been building for the code for as long as I can remember. From hand-coding HTML in the early days to building C# .NET applications that run millions of operations on servers to shipping modern React applications, I've always been drawn to the craft of creating things people actually use.

Outside of code, the things that matter most are simple: family, logging miles on long runs, and exploring new places together. Whether it's a half marathon race on a Saturday morning or a flight to somewhere we've never been, I believe the best life is one that balances building great things with actually living.

Running

I took up running in 2015. I wanted a way to improve my health and stay active without having to rely on gathering together a group, like with basketball. It gave me a chance to do my own thing, at my own schedule.

Philosophy

The Vibes

01

Ship Clean Code

Good code reads like good prose. Readable, maintainable, and well-structured. No shortcuts, no spaghetti -- just craft that stands the test of time.

02

Family First

At the end of the day, it all comes back to home. Adventures with my wife, building a life together, and making sure the people who matter most always come first.

03

Run the Miles

Running clears the head and sharpens the focus. Whether it's an early morning trail or a race-day PR, the discipline of putting one foot in front of the other carries into everything.

04

See the World

New places, new perspectives. Travel reminds you how big the world is and how much there is to learn from it. Always have the next trip on the calendar.
